Silver-Fundraiser

SPRING CLEAN & GLEAN!
A CRAFT ONTARIO Recycling Fundraiser and Raffle
May 10 – October 1, 2018

These days everyone is on board with recycling. Here's a chance to re-purpose and spring clean the nooks and crannies of your jewellery box, cabinets and drawers...plus, your donation will enter you into a draw to win a beautiful piece of handmade jewellery from the Craft Ontario Shop valued at $200!

Sterling silver is made up of mostly silver ore, which is one of the most ancient recyclable materials on the planet. Send us your broken chains, unmatched earrings or cuff links, worn out rings, or any scraps that you don't need! You get the idea - any unwanted sterling silver jewellery or small items that can be recycled and put to good use again.

Look for STERLING or 925 stamped on pieces you might consider donating. If in doubt, use a magnet to test for non-precious, but silver coloured metal. Here are a few other handy tips for determining whether an object is made from sterling silver: www.wikihow.com/Know-if-Something-Is-Sterling-Silver.

Of course, we’re also more than happy to accept old and broken gold items too, in which case look for these kind of numbers and markings: 10k, 14k, 18k, 750, or 585.

Anyone donating official marked bars or bullion may be eligible for a tax receipt - please discuss this option with us in advance at the email address below.

Your donation will support the important transitional work of adapting and maintaining CRAFT ONTARIO as a community organization representing and supporting the best of craft in Ontario.

It’s this easy:

Send or drop off your package to:

SPRING CLEAN & GLEAN
Craft Ontario
1106 Queen Street West
Toronto ON, M6J 1H9

Donations will be accepted between May 10 and October 1, 2018, with the draw taking place on October 2, 2018. Enclose your name, email address and phone number in order to have your name entered for the draw to win a piece of jewellery from the Craft Ontario Shop valued at $200.

You will receive a confirmation by email that your donation has been received.

Thank you in advance for considering any donation, no matter how small!

Why support Craft Ontario?

Because you can help us do what we do best:

  • Promote the work of Ontario craftspeople through our Gallery and retail venue, Craft Ontario Shop, which has been in operation since 1932. With 30,000 people walking through our doors every year, we have been instrumental to the economic success of hundreds of makers of craft.
  • Provide a retail marketplace for the highest quality of craft in Ontario.
  • Serve more than 1,200 Ontario makers and supporters, and deliver programs and services to keep the craft community thriving.
  • Represent fine Inuit and Native artists in Toronto. We have Ontario’s longest track record in promoting these artists and knowledgeable staff who advocate on their behalf.
  • Acknowledge excellence through our $25,000 annual Craft Awards program that recognizes makers, curators, writers, and administrators who contribute to the making of fine craft.
  • Provide a national forum for dialogue about craft to 17,500 subscribers of Studio Craft and Design magazine

In short, we are passionate about building a strong and vibrant craft community in Ontario and ensuring that craft plays a vital role in our contemporary culture.

Please consider making a charitable gift to Craft Ontario today. Craft Ontario relies on the generosity of donors like you to sustain our programs and services and continue to build a strong, vibrant artistic culture in Ontario. In recognition of your gift, you will be included on our online Donor Wall and any donations over $10 will receive a tax receipt for the maximum allowable amount as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency.
