Taqialuq Nuna was eight years old when he started carving. Taq has worked with stone, marble, antler and whale bone and taken many courses to develop his craft and enjoys the participation.

Taq has been involved in a number of noteworthy and challenging projects.  In 1987 he joined other carvers in Iqaluit to sculpt the huge Drum Dancer at the Unikkaarik Visitor Center in Iqaluit. In 1990 he worked with George Pratt, Simata Pitseolak, and Phillip Pitseolak on the sculpture entitled “Myth of Sedna” commissioned by Royal Trust in Toronto.
