A single stone carving of stones laid upon one another constructed in a symbolic humanlike form. An inukshuk might act as a message, marking a good resting place or giving bearings to a traveler coming in from the frozen sea to a flat featureless coast.

Matt Kingwatsiak is an Inuk artist from Kinngait (Cape Dorset), Nunavut, still early in his artistic career, focusing primarily on sculpting small-scale Inuksuit. However, he occasionally ventures into carving larger bears.
