Open Call: META4 Gallery - Making Your Mark

Craft Ontario is proud to join the celebration of META4 Gallery’s 20th anniversary and to have the opportunity to support them in partnership to present Making Your Mark, a juried exhibition opening June 20th, 2025, at META4 Gallery in Port Perry! META4 Gallery is celebrating 20 years of showcasing fine and craft art by local makers from the Port Perry area! 20 years of nurturing new talent in studio workshops, active support and involvement in the community, and connecting professional craftspeople with new patrons! Keeping an arts hub running and thriving for multiple decades is not an easy feat, but like in the case of META4, they can quickly become strong pillars of the broader community. The community of META4 have been long-time members of Craft Ontario and we are continually grateful for their support and connection to arts and culture in Port Perry. We have been continuously proud to see them thrive and grow over the past decades! Join us in celebrating the momentous anniversary of 20 years of META4 Gallery through participating in Making Your Mark!

MAKING YOUR MARK: META4 GALLERY'S 20th ANNIVERSARY SHOW

Whether permanent or fleeting, solid or ephemeral, making your mark creates a memory and a legacy. The impact might be broad or may be limited to a small circle. Sales from this exhibition will support emerging and established artists, META4 Gallery, and Craft Ontario. Making Your Mark is a juried show and a jury fee of $20 CAD is required for submission.

Submissions due June 1, 2025, 11:59 PM EST

Accepted artwork must be delivered to META4 in Port Perry by June 18, 2025

Exhibition dates,  June 20th – July 13, 2025 at META4 Gallery

Opening Reception July 12, 2020, 6-9 PM EST at META4 Gallery

Unsold artwork must be picked up from META4 Port Perry from July 14 -July 20, 2025

Purchased artwork must be picked up from META4 Port Perry from July 14 – July 20, 2025

Submission Guidelines

• One submission per artist.
• Materials welcome include painting, drawing, wood, ceramics, textiles, mixed media, and metal.
• Photographs, copies, derivatives, or work based in any way on other copyrighted or published paintings, photographs or other artistic works are not permitted.
  
• Each piece must be presented within 100 square inches on a 10” x 10” wood panel (gallery depth, 1 5/8”).
• Artists must create on the theme Making your Mark.
  
• Minimum age to participate 18 years.
  
• Registered participants can purchase a 10” x 10” panel at META4 for a 10% discount. Or you can provide your own, as long as it meets the dimensions.
  
• Work must be unframed and ready to hang.
• Artwork will be displayed in the studio and must be available for purchase, Silent Auction style. (minimum bids will be set at $50).
  
• A commission of 50% will be retained by the artist, 25% by META4, 25% donated to Craft Ontario.
• Unsold work will be returned to the artist.
