3 Way Bear

This stunning stone carved polar bear can stand in three different ways!

Joanie started carving in his very early teens. He carves in stone usually serpentinite and his subject matter is animals – polar bears, (dancing and walking), walrus, seals, birds and transformations. He credits both his older brother Siutapik and his grandfather Inuk Munamie for having taught him in the traditional way. His uncles are Toonoo Sharky and Napachie Sharky who are both well know carvers.
