Matrilineal Hauntings Catalogue
Matrilineal Hauntings is an exhibition catalogue documenting Kathy Kranias’ 2022 site-specific installation of ceramic sculptures at 43 Queen’s Park Cres East in Toronto. Drawing on family histories in a 19th century house built by Kranias’ ancestors, the installation bridges generations of women through architecture as a site of violence, status, and home.
The 36 page full colour paperback book features photos by Marina Dempster of Kranias’ works in situ, a curatorial essay by Lera Kotsyuba, a catalogue of works in exhibition, and Kranias’ artist’s statement and biography.
