‘Void’ is a solo exhibition of jewellery by Toronto-based Chinese artist Chu Winnie Cheung that explores constraint, censorship and discrimination in the context of contemporary Chinese society. Through her jewellery, Winnie juxtaposes rigid socio-cultural norms with the raw, unbridled energy of nature – symbolized by free-floating clouds.

'The Shape of Life' is a solo exhibition of ceramic sculptures by Oakville-based artist Joon Hee Kim. The sculptures take the vessel form as the jumping off point — pot-like bases extend up into bodies that are teeming with life.

‘the threads we carry, across borders’ is a solo exhibition of hand-embroidered textiles by Indian-born, Toronto-based artist Par Nair that examines the lived experiences of diaspora and complexities of intergenerational knowledge.

‘Material Memories’ is a solo exhibition featuring mixed media works by Don Kwan, delving into the Chinese diasporic experience amidst the heightened challenges of loss, isolation, and anti-Asian racism during the Covid-19 pandemic.

‘Thousands of Hands and Objects’ is a solo exhibition of enameled silver brooches by jewellery designer and metalsmith Mengnan Qu that encourages us to cherish the materials and artifacts in our lives.
The Craft Ontario Gallery is located at 401 Richmond Street West, Studio 108, in downtown Toronto. The gallery is approximately 600 sq. ft.

There is an annual opportunity to apply for the Exhibitions program. Craft Ontario seeks proposals for solo and two-person exhibitions to take place in the Craft Ontario Gallery during the following year. Look for the annual Call for Entry during the winter and spring.
