Stefanie Smith's World of the Watchers is an evolving story-building project that interweaves folklore and myth-building with ceramic sculpture and photography. The project began as a search for a greater sense of play and whimsy, in a practice that felt over-thought and overly serious. It has quickly taken on a life of its own.
This issue of Studio is about the connected nature of craft: how craft builds relationships between people, communities, and generations. Craft builds on tradition, using it as a foundation to further explore the possibilities and relationships between history and modernity....

Fiona Macintyre has been making jewellery and hollowware for over 25 years.
Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from the University of Guelph and an Honours Bachelor of Design from OCADU in Jewellery and Metalsmithing, Fiona has worked with established jewellery designers along with museum work and teaching opportunities.
