Craft Ontario Welcomes Robyn Wilcox as Executive Director

Accomplished curator and arts administrator to lead the next chapter for Ontario’s craft community!

Craft Ontario is pleased to announce the appointment of Robyn Wilcox (she/her) as Executive Director, effective September 22, 2025. A Toronto-based curator and arts administrator with more than a decade of leadership shaping Ontario’s craft and design landscape, Robyn will guide Craft Ontario’s strategy, programs, and partnerships as the organization deepens its impact across the province.

Robyn brings significant experience from key roles across the sector, including Curator at Craft Ontario and Head of Programming at DesignTO, where she helped grow Canada’s leading design festival. She has also contributed to Harbourfront Centre’s Craft & Design programs, supporting Canada’s foremost Artist-in-Residence Program across ceramics, glass, textiles, jewellery, and design. Over her career, Robyn has organized more than 50 exhibitions and events, building lasting connections with artists, funders, educators, and cultural partners.

Robyn is a highly collaborative, future-focused leader with deep respect for artists and makers,” commented Christian Bernard Singer, Board Chair, Craft Ontario. “Her program experience, community-first approach, and ability to engage supporters, are exactly what Craft Ontario needs at this pivotal moment. We’re incredibly excited to support her as she advances our mission and elevates the craft sector across Ontario.”

A Toronto Arts Council Leaders Lab Fellow, Robyn holds a Master of Architecture (Post-Professional) from McGill University. Her perspective is rooted in collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to building capacity for artists and makers at every stage of their careers.

I’m honoured to take on the role of Executive Director at Craft Ontario and to help champion the ideas, materials, and skills that define contemporary craft,” said Robyn on her appointment. “Together with our members, partners, and supporters we’ll expand opportunities for makers, broaden audiences through dynamic programming, and strengthen the ecosystem that sustains craft across the province.”

Approaching its 50th anniversary in 2026, Craft Ontario is a not-for-profit, province-wide organization that champions excellence in craft through exhibitions, programs, advocacy, and community-building. Serving professional craftspeople, we connect makers with audiences and opportunities, foster professional growth, and celebrate the cultural and economic value of craft across Ontario.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Robyn Wilcox to Craft Ontario!
