Exhibition Call for Entry: Craft Across Ontario

Craft Ontario is thrilled to partner with the Colborne Street Gallery to present an exhibition of member work from across the province!

Craft Across Ontario will take place August 17 – October 29 at the Colborne Street Gallery. All Craft Ontario members are invited to apply!

Deadline: Friday, June 30, 2023, 4:00 pm EST

Established in 2018, Colborne Street Gallery is dedicated to the exhibition of contemporary art, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, fibre, and mixed media arts. The gallery also features a selection of Inuit Art from Kinngait Studios, Nunavut including print, drawing and sculpture. Located in downtown Fenelon Falls, the gallery hosts artist talks, workshops, and other special events that engage and support the local community.

Deadline for Applications: Friday, June 23, 2023, 4:00 pm EST

Notification: Friday, July 14. 2023

Delivery of Work: Tuesday, August 10, 2023

Exhibition open to the public: August 17 – October 29, 2023

Opening Reception: Saturday, September 9, 2023

Pick-up of unsold Work: Wednesday, November 1, 2023


Requirements

  • All submissions must use the online application form. Hard copy or in-person submissions will not be accepted.
  • All work must be original, handmade work, created by the artist.
  • Applications can include up to ten (10) works for consideration.
  • Final exhibition work will be chosen by a jury consisting of Chris Van Lierop, Co-owner of Colborne Street Gallery, Darcie Kennedy, Managing Director of Colborne Street Gallery, and Elycia SFA, Member Relations & Programs Manger at Craft Ontario.
  • Successful applicants must hold a Craft Ontario Maker Membership. For membership inquiries, please contact Elycia SFA, Member Relations & Programs Manager, at esfa@craftontario.com. 
  • Non-members can apply by paying a $10 Admin Fee. If a non-member has work accepted into the exhibition, they will be required to purchase a Maker Membership prior to being included in the exhibition. If this fee is a financial barrier, or if you have any questions, please get in touch at esfa@craftontario.com.
  • Submitted works must be for sale, and can include both production and one-of-a-kind pieces.
  • Colborne Street Gallery takes a commission split of 50% on all sales. A consignment agreement (link to terms) will be sent to all successful applicants, and a signed copy is required prior to the exhibition.
  • Artists are responsible for the shipping, delivery, and pick up of their work, both to and from the Gallery.
  • All work must arrive at the Gallery wrapped and protected. Unwrapped work is at risk of damage and is not the responsibility of the Gallery.
  • All work must arrive at the Gallery ready for display. If work is not ready for display, the Gallery cannot guarantee the work will be shown. For example, 2-D works must have D-rings or a wire firmly secured, sculptures must be able to stand securely on their own or have a device securely attached for hanging purposes, installation work should have notes, and any special installation items included with the work, such as unframed works on paper, cards, etc., should be placed in a clear plastic sleeve.
  • Once work has been received and inspected at the Gallery, it is insured under the Gallery policy.
  • The Gallery is responsible for the installation of the exhibition.
