As a glass artist who creates delicate sculptures successfully shipped around the world, I understand the importance of proper packing techniques. In this webinar, drawing from my experience, we will explore essential tips and techniques for securely packing art. We'll discuss various packing options, including selecting appropriate materials and wrapping techniques, tailored to the specific needs of different types of artwork. Additionally, we'll delve into freight options, considering factors such as transportation modes, packaging requirements, and delivery schedules. ABOUT THE ARTIST

Cheryl Wilson Smith has lived all her life in Canada's North, working and raising her family in Red Lake. Beginning as a painter and ceramic artist, she works in glass art exploring the passage of time and her sense of place in the vast world around us. Drawing from her isolated life, residencies around the world and travels she has created a unique image. By manipulating the physical characteristics of powdered glass, she is able to achieve forms that resemble familiar land formations. She began exhibiting in 2007, receiving national and international attention. Her work has been in numerous exhibitions and a recent solo installation at galleries throughout North America and in the U.K. Like most Canadians she deals with landscape, but landscapes remembered across generations, those affecting us and those we impact. Cheryl is interested in remembrances that shape an individual's art and design ideas. Her sculptures serve as receptacles for memory and time while exploring the tensions presented as we try to walk responsibly in this world and contemplate the extent to which we all alter the landscape, for better and worse.
