Craft Ontario, and the The Al & Malka Green Artists' Health Centre present an info session to provide insight on navigating the Ontario healthcare system as artists and creatives, presented by Shelly-Anne Li, Program Director & Scientist, Research & Community Engagement at The Al & Malka Green Artists' Health Centre.
In this virtual workshop, artists will explore health and wellness tips tailored to support their physical and mental well-being. We'll introduce services available at the Artists' Health Centre, and our subsidized health services for artists in financial need.
Participants will gain an essential overview of Ontario's healthcare system, focusing on how to effectively access the services and resources they need. We'll cover key tips for navigating healthcare, including understanding patient rights, setting expectations for medical visits, and asking the right questions to ensure clear communication with providers.
Additionally, we'll discuss various healthcare options in Ontario, such as telemedicine and home visit services that provide flexibility in accessing care. This session is designed to empower artists with the knowledge and tools they need to confidently access and navigate healthcare support.
At the end of the virtual workshop, participants will:
Have knowledge of the healthcare resources available to artists.
Feel more comfortable and more confident in accessing healthcare services.
Learn how to get started with wayfinding in the healthcare space.
