Rhonda’s foray into clay began in 2007 at the Haliburton School of the Arts. The purchase of a test kiln followed a year later along with experimentation at earthenware temperatures. She continues to expand her skills through workshops at the three potters groups she belongs to.
By using printmaking techniques (linocut, collagraph, monoprint), vintage lace, leaves and other textured bits, Rhonda strives to create detailed surfaces on her ceramics
Rhonda is drawn to the minutiae in everyday life, the delicate details created by the hand of man or Mother Nature that are often overlooked by others.
She prefers tiles as her ceramic canvas. If a viewer is compelled to move in closer for a better look at her work, she has been successful.
