The round bowl features a gentle scalloped edge. A painterly calligraphic mark, worked through the wet glaze, rests on the inside of the dish and an expressive Q like symbol is etched into the clay over this mark. Another similarly painted - into-  the - glaze mark is echoed on the outside lip.  The deep teal hue of the glaze softens or intensifies with the curves of the marks and the curves of the bowl itself.
