Large Planter
Dianne Lee’s Handy series feature a distinctive edge to each vessel that shows the outline of cupped hands that welcome and care for the objects placed within. This large planter is held by one of Lee's Handy bowls. Pops of bright glaze colours and juicy contrasts between matte and gloss surfaces, along with a dynamic graphic approach, give a unique character to each piece.

Dianne is a Toronto based ceramic artist and instructor.
Born in West Germany, her childhood was filled with different landscapes and environments as her family moved from province to province, following her father’s military posts.
Dianne has been making pottery since 2012. Her functional wares are wheel thrown in stoneware. The pots are hand decorated using cone 6, food safe glazes and underglaze in crayon and paint form.
She individually draws on every surface, making each piece truly unique. The imagery on the surfaces of the pots are inspired by the ever-changing environment she grew up in. She is well known for her Handy series, where each piece depicts one or two hands.
