Currently living in Montreal, Avetisyan is a member of the Enamellist Society and the Society of North American Goldsmiths.
Born in Armenia, a country with a rich tradition and respect for the arts, Avetisyan spent formative years in this environment of a broad range of cultural and historical legacies. Growing up Avetisyan pursued painting, print making, and pottery. In 1994 she began to teach graphic arts and print making. In 2010 she moved to the country of Georgia to study cloisonné enameling with local masters who have kept this vibrant and colorful art form alive. Vibrant colours and character fill Avetisyan’s current enamel works, inspired by living in Haiti for four years and returning to her passion of teaching art.
