Genie Kim was born and raised in South Korea, and attended the prestigious School of Fine Arts, Hongik University, in Seoul. After graduation, Kim worked for Sol Animation Studios, and then started her own Art Academy for young people. In 1998 Kim settled in Canada, and has been a private art teacher in Oakville, Ontario, while participating in several art shows every year in the Toronto area and Southern Ontario.
