Elisha Ipeelee is one of the younger carvers in the Iqaluit Inuit community. He comes from a long line of family carvers: Nouvyea, Seepee and Joamie Ipeelee. Even his father, Michael Ipeelee, is a carver, so it is not surprising that Elisha has followed the same artistic path as many of his relatives. He is known for carving charming and inquisitive owls with precise incising on the body. The artist loves to work in Caribou Antler.
