Andrew Mason and his wife Kathleen moved their young and still growing family to Port Sydney, Ontario in 1997 and have since found inspiration in and around the forests and waterways of Muskoka and Georgian Bay area to create many one of a kind pieces in his home studio.

His natural creativity and eagerness to keep learning has enabled a wide range of techniques to conceive these unique pieces. Wood turning, carving, texturing and dyes, as well as native and exotic woods are all key to the final product. Multiple varieties of wood such as maple, cherry, birch, black walnut and box elder are primarily used. He has recently discovered the unique and somewhat mysterious “Deepwater Wood”; Preserved for over a century in the cold waters have taken on truly exceptional tones and texture. Be it a one of a kind multi-axis turning, stunning carved wall art, beautifully simple bowls or exquisitely detailed “popcorn” bowls, Andrew seemingly finds himself at his lathe at every opportunity creating something new and fulfilling.
