Inukshuk

A single stone carving of stones laid upon one another constructed in a symbolic humanlike form. An inukshuk might act as a message, marking a good resting place or giving bearings to a traveler coming in from the frozen sea to a flat featureless coast.

Oqittuq Shaa is an Inuk artist from Kinngait (Cape Dorset), Nunavut. Shaa is known for creating carvings, particularly of dancing bears. His work is celebrated for capturing movement and emotion, and his "Dancing Bear" sculptures are particularly well-regarded.
