Based in Thornhill, ON, Amin Golestan pushes the boundaries of contemporary woodworking through innovation, craftsmanship, and design. Amin Golestan is a wood artist with a background in civil engineering and over 15 years of experience in construction and design.
Working from a one-car garage turned workshop, he combines digital tools with traditional handcraft techniques to create one-of-a-kind wooden art and functional décor. Most designs begin with the use of 3D software and CNC machining to rough out the initial shape. Forms are refined with carving tools, sculpting grinders, and chisels, carefully adding textures and details that only handcraft can achieve. From there, hours of sanding, oil or varnishing, and finishing each work with a focus on tactile feel and longevity.
