Types of Memberships

Membership Annual Pricing & Discounts

Craft Ontario membership embodies Craftspersonship, Artistic Value, and Thoughtful Design, while fostering connection within communities. Annual membership fees enable us to deliver services and programs in supporting craft artists while raising awareness of, providing access to, and growing appreciation for their work.


Community Membership $70 For people with passion for contemporary craft.
Maker Membership $130 For people who engage in a practice of creative making.
Organization Membership $125 For craft-related organizations, businesses & institutions.

Available to Community and Maker memberships. Discounts address financial barriers by lowering the base price for those who need it.

  • Priority Groups (- 50%) Artists of Colour, Deaf Artists, and Artists with Disabilities, Francophone Artists, Indigenous Artists, 2SLGBTQIA+ Artists
  • Distance (- 40%) Living 100km outside of Toronto.
  • Students (- 80%) Full-time enrolment in an educational institution. (Only for Maker Members)
  • Seniors (- 40%) Individuals 65 years or older.
  • Sliding Scale For folks who find the price of membership a financial barrier. A custom price can be selected ranging from full price to 50% off.

* Members who identify with more than one group can select the category with the greatest discount.

Membership FAQs

How do I qualify for a Priority Group or Sliding Scale membership discount?

Our discounts operate on a self-identification basis. There is no need to provide supplemental information in order to receive a discount. If you need assistance applying a discount to your invoice, please email membership@craftontario.com

Can I apply for programs without a membership?

Non-members are welcome to apply for Craft Ontario programs, with a $10 administrative fee. If you are accepted into a program, then you must join by purchasing a Maker Membership.

What do I get with a Maker Membership?

The Maker Membership is our most popular level. The most valued benefits, identified by current members, include:

  • Apply without fees to well recognized annual professional programs: Professional gallery exhibitions, downtown Toronto retail representation, cash awards recognizing excellence.
  • Join workshops and coaching designed for creative careers
  • Cross promote your career news through our multi-channel communications. Our audiences are over 20,000 viewers strong.
  • Connect with fellow makers and the Craft Ontario staff team
  • PLUS basic benefits of Community Membership

  • All the latest community news, events, opportunities, and invitations delivered monthly to your inbox.
  • A subscription to Studio Magazine: Contemporary Canadian craft and design within global material culture.
  • 10% off discount on purchases in store and online at the Craft Ontario Shop. Excluding the current Annual Cape Dorset Print Collection.

I am trying to renew my membership, but I can’t log in to the website

Our membership system automatically revokes login access once a membership expires, please email membership@craftontario.com, and we will reinstate the login for you.

If you have your login, pay your invoice now.

How do I find my membership number?
  1. Log in on craftontario.com
  2. On the ‘MY HOME’ page under the MEMBER NUMBER heading, click the button ‘GO TO MEMBER NUMBER’.
  3. Click the yellow button that says ‘View Profile/Edit Profile’.
  4. Under the Basic Information heading, your membership number will be listed.
What insurance do you offer and how do I sign up?
