Mathewsie Oshutsiaq is an Inuit sculptor from Cape Dorset (Kinngait), Nunavut. He learned to carve by observing artists in his family and community and developed his skills through hands-on experience with stone. Oshutsiaq is best known for his expressive interpretations of Arctic wildlife and human figures, often characterized by strong forms and a sense of movement.

Working primarily in stone, his sculptures reflect both traditional Inuit subject matter and a personal, intuitive carving style. Oshutsiaq’s work has been exhibited in galleries across Canada and is held in private and public collections.

He lives and works in Cape Dorset, Nunavut.
